National magazines have named Mara� beaches as some of the country`s best. The natural beauty and growing fame are attracting a growing number of millionaire homes and boutique hotels such as Kiaroa Resort. A major new development is Grupo Amorim`s Project 21, reportedly the largest beach resort in South America, with international level golf courses and other amenities. Project 21 received environmental approval in Dec ember 2011, and has the potential to be a `game-changer` in the region.

Brazil`s tourism market is being supported by domestic demand, backed by the strong commodity economy which recently by-passed the UK as #6 in the world.
